For over a decade, the Ottawa-based Souljazz Orchestra has been bridging the gap between funk and Afrobeat. The band delivers its signature majestic, horn-drenched melodies driven by a percussive explosion of soul, jazz, Latin, and Caribbean rhythms and primitive keyboards, with lyrics touching on politics and spirituality. The multicultural collective released their new collaborative recording, Solidarity, this September. Zongo Junction will open.
