Since its founding in 1985, David Dorfman Dance has been celebrated for its exuberant, gorgeous and delightfully oddball style. The company has garnered an impressive list of critical honors, including eight Bessie Awards. The company’s newest project, Prophets of Funk—Dance to the Music, is a dynamic engagement of movement driven by the popular—and populist—funk sounds of Sly and the Family Stone.
